Markex offers more in 2004

1 May 2004

Markex, South Africa's premier marketing and promotions exhibition, has grown considerably over its 18 years, and this year Cape Town will get a taste of this world-class exhibition. Exhibitions for Africa, the organisers of Markex, has heeded the call of Cape-based marketing and promotion sectors, and will present the first-ever Markex Cape in addition to the annual Markex Gauteng.
Markex Cape will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 28-30 July 2004, following Markex Gauteng, which will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 8-10 June 2004.
In addition to this, the second annual World of Events exhibition, which showcases industry suppliers to the special events industry, will run alongside both Markex exhibitions. "Last year's World of Events received huge acclaim with positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike," says Lynn Kennedy, director of Exhibitions for Africa.
After the resounding success of World of Events, Exhibitions for Africa has added yet another exhibition component to the Gauteng based show - the One of a Kind exhibition. This exhibition, which features individually crafted and superbly styled contemporary arts, will showcase the best that South Africa has to offer. Categories feature a wide variety of applied arts and this prestigious new event will undoubtedly broaden the market in this niche sector.
"We continuously aim to not only produce premier shows, but to find new and original ways of adding value for both exhibitors and visitors. We believe that One of a Kind is another vehicle to do just that," says Kennedy.
Kennedy goes on to say: "One of a Kind and World of Events fit in perfectly with the overall marketing theme of Markex, therefore enhancing the show's power to deliver quality contacts, leads and heaps of business opportunities."
Last year's Markex saw 7627 people flocking to the Sandton Convention Centre during the three-day show, and it is expected that figures will be even higher this year.
With over 79% of Markex 2004 already booked, exhibition space is filling up quickly.
